    Job Description

    At Thrive Childcare and Education, we put our children first—but we look after you too.

    We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Early Years Practitioner – 1:1 Support to join our team at Thrive Princess Dock, Liverpool. This rewarding role is centred on providing consistent, individualised support to a child, helping them to thrive within the nursery environment while promoting their learning, confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.

    Working closely with the nursery team, parents, and any external professionals where appropriate, you will create a nurturing and inclusive environment that enables every child to reach their full potential.

    This role is ideal for an experienced Early Years Practitioner, Nursery Practitioner, or Nursery Nurse who is passionate about making a real difference through personalised support.

    Key Responsibilities

    As an Early Years Practitioner – 1:1 Support, you will:

    • Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to an individual child's learning, development, and wellbeing.
    • Build a positive, trusting relationship that helps the child feel safe, secure, and confident.
    • Adapt activities and learning opportunities to meet the child's individual needs, interests, and developmental stage.
    • Support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence throughout the nursery day.
    • Work alongside colleagues to ensure the child is fully included in all nursery experiences.
    • Observe, monitor, and record progress, contributing to individual learning and development plans.
    • Liaise effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach.
    • Promote positive behaviour using nurturing, child-centred strategies.
    • Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
    • Continue your professional development and contribute positively to the wider nursery team.

    Requirements

    • Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential).
    • Experience working within an early years setting (preferred).
    • Experience supporting children with additional needs or providing 1:1 support is desirable but not essential.
    • Good understanding of the EYFS framework and inclusive practice.
    • Patient, caring, and empathetic approach with the ability to build positive relationships.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Commitment to supporting every child to achieve their full potential.
