Home / Careers / Who We Are
Childcare and education are at the heart of our business. We put children first every time, that’s one of our values and it serves to remind us of why we all exist.
We hope you are thinking of joining Thrive, a family which is focused on simple values. The most important part in achieving that is the role that all our teams play throughout the business, whether that be in nursery or in our central support teams in Scotland and England, we are delighted you have chosen to delve deeper into our story. Without our teams, we would be nothing and we are committed to do our level best to make sure their time with us is enjoyable, rewarding and fulfilling.
At Thrive, our goal is to prepare children, not only for school, but for the rest of their lives as conscientious, talented, and unique individuals who will be the future custodians of our planet. We believe that children’s all-round development and wellbeing requires strong foundations that our personal and unique Thrive Curriculum can provide
In joining us, you have the opportunity to be part of something special, the wonderful chance to enrich children’s lives in their Early Year’s through quality learning and fantastic experiences. Being a part of a child’s early life is such a privilege and we hope you come on board and be part of our amazing family.
Since our foundation, we have acquired some fantastic groups of nurseries, as well as high-quality, independent nurseries. Now we are uniting all our nurseries in Scotland and England under four Thrive groupings. Holyrood, Happitots and Corner House Nurseries are joined by our new Nature Kindergarten which reflects our vision and ethos to develop children’s outdoor learning. We are proud to say we have;
We would love you to join us and be part of our story.
Our Mission, Vision and Values set out what we stand for and why we exist. They are really important to us all at Thrive and we work hard to live up to and achieve these standards in all we do. Take a read, we hope these resonate with you as much as they do us.
To be recognised as the local provider of choice
Be parents and colleagues first choice for nursery care and education, operating a trusted and nationally recognised, high quality brand.
We have 4 simple values. Come and join our family and be proud to work somewhere which shares the same values as you. Your experience with us through your colleague journey is really important to us. But we are more than just words. We live these values every day.
Every decision we make, and in all we do, we put our children first every time. After all, we are a childcare provider and having children and their families at the heart of our business and thinking is so important. We make sure that wherever our colleagues work, and whatever they do, we ensure that ours and their first priority is always the children in our care. That also means we look after you so you can do the best for our children.
We deliver everyday with passion in an environment where you can bring your best self to work and be a part of a vibrant and fun filled yet challenging environment. Is really important for us that our colleagues love what they do and have all the right tools, equipment and support needed to be fulfilled and happy at work. We love celebrating all the wonderful ideas, interactions and success of our teams and shouting about all the great things we do.
We know that the most successful people experience the best results by asking for help, accepting help, and learning from their experiences along the way. We love to problem solve together and collaborate – this means teamwork is at the heart of our business.
We are positive role models in Thrive. We help each other to be better and to continue to improve. We focus on positive outcomes for all and show that we care in our language and our behaviour. Most of all, we pay attention to those around us and support each other, after all, isn’t that what families are for?
We understand that sometimes it can be a little challenging to hold ourselves to account for the high expectations of our Mission Vision and Values, and that’s why we have created four commitments we all embrace so that we can make positive steps towards our own personal development journeys.
These are commitments we make to ourselves and to each other, so that we can bring our very best selves to work to deliver every day with passion, putting the children in our care first, every time, working as one team to be a positive role model. These commitments are:
Being impeccable with your word requires a conscious effort and will build a positive, engaged culture. It’s all about doing what you say you will do. Being less reactive will provide good role modelling and ensures we plan to deliver the very best at all times.
Not taking things personally encourages us to think about a person's real intent behind the words they are saying and being open in our approach to hear feedback and reflect on our own behaviour.
Asking questions to understand rather than just telling is a wonderful way of providing a two-way framework for a discussion. And you can avoid major problems and essential learnings if you do not make assumptions.
Always doing your best means acting instead of expecting things to happen. Enjoy what you do and the process behind it. It’s about reflecting every day and asking yourself; what have I done today which is better than yesterday.
We are committed to a culture which respects inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility. This is about your colleague experience and journey with Thrive from application to interview, from onboarding to personal development. We are committed to providing engaging and inspirational experiences so that you can develop and grow with us. We do this by creating an environment where individuals are recognised and valued for their differences and the contribution they make to their own and our combined success.
So many of our Practitioners who start with us have successfully become Nursery Managers and beyond. But your career doesn’t stop there. Have a look at all the opportunities across all our central support teams as well as Operations. The sky is the limit and we can’t wait to celebrate all your successes together!
We hope that you choose to join Thrive and live these four commitments with us. They are commitments which will shape our ways of working and provide a framework for success in a very busy world.
